CareersInGovernment.com's Privacy Policy
CareersInGovernment.com is committed to protecting the privacy of our users.
We want to provide a safe, secure user experience. We will use our best
efforts to ensure that the information
you submit to us remains private, and is used only for the purposes
described in this policy.
Aggregate Visitor Information
We gather information about all of our users collectively, such as what
areas users visit most frequently and what services users access most often.
Data is only used anonymously and in the aggregate. This information helps
us determine what is most beneficial for our users, and how we can
continually create a better overall experience for our visitors. We may
share this information with our partners, but only in the aggregate, so that
they too may understand how CareersInGovernment.com visitors use our site,
and improve service delivery.
Individual Information
In some instances, when you sign up to use a service, complete a survey,
participate in a contest, or purchase a product, for example, we may need
more specific information about you, such as name, address, e-mail address,
telephone number, credit card number, type of computer, etc. If you give us
permission, we may use that information to make you aware of additional
products and services that may be of interest to you or to contact you
regarding site changes. CareersInGovernment.com will always provide you with
the opportunity to opt-out of these types of communications.
During your visit to CareersInGovernment.com, we may also ask you for other
information about your interests, your likes and dislikes regarding the
site, the types of jobs you are interested in, etc., in an effort to deliver
to you the best possible site experience.
General Information Disclosure
Except as described in this privacy policy, we do not disclose information
about your individual visits to CareersInGovernment.com, or personal
information that you provide, such as your name, address, e-mail address,
telephone number, credit card number, personal references, etc., to any
outside parties, except when it may be required by law.
We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our
behalf. Examples may include hosting our web servers, analyzing data,
providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments, and
providing customer service. These other companies will have access to your
personal information as necessary to perform their functions, but they may
not share that information with any third party.
Resumes
CareersInGovernment.com gives you the option of putting your resume in our
database in one of two ways:
- You can store your resume in our database, but not allow it
to be viewed by
potential employers. You will be able to
apply for a job online, but employers and recruiters will not have access to
it.
- If you allow your resume to be searchable, then all
member employers and recruiters will have access to your resume.
We make every effort to grant access to this database only to member
employers, recruiters, hiring managers, headhunters, and human resource
professionals, but cannot guarantee that other parties will not, without our
consent, gain access to this database. You may remove your resume from our
searchable database at any time. However, employers and recruiters who have
had access to the database, and other parties who have otherwise gained
access to the database, may have retained a copy of your resume in their own
files or databases. We are not responsible for the retention, use, or
privacy of resumes in these instances, or for the use or privacy of resumes
by any of such parties while resumes are in the database. As a matter of
policy, no job seeker resumes may be viewed by other than member employers
and executive recruiters.
Keeping Account Information Current
CareersInGovernment.com allows you to change or correct your personal
information at any time. To do so, simply log into the Recruiters’ Center,
go to your account profile, and you will find options for editing the
information you have submitted.
Online Order Security
When you place an order online, your personal details and credit card
information are scrambled using industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
encryption technology before being sent over the Internet. Although we
cannot guarantee encryption or the privacy of your personal details and
credit card information, SSL makes it very difficult for your information to
be stolen or intercepted while being transferred. A company called VeriSign
maintains our Credit Card transactions. All information sent to VeriSign is
encrypted, which will protect it against disclosure to third parties. When
we receive your order, it is kept encrypted until they're ready to process
it.

To enhance your experience at CareersInGovernment.com, we use a feature on
your Internet browser called a "cookie". Cookies are small files that your
Web browser places on your computer's hard drive. We use cookies for
remembering user names and passwords and preferences, tracking click
